Beacon Rock & Wahclella Waterfall

Wahoo for beautiful Saturdays!

Beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge from Beacon Rock.

Nice 'little' side waterfall.

Bridger wanted to reach out and touch every drip of water, tree, stone, or fern that was within reach.

A few snuggles from my baby... I think we successfully tired him out!

This is why we love Oregon!!

One of our pastimes....

Are we bad parents for thinking this is a hilarious Sunday activity? Or that we encourage it? Hopefully there is no long term damage.

There goes our Tax Refund...

We were getting pretty excited for our tax refund and economic stimulus package to arrive... Counting all the different adventures we could have with the money... Well that bubble burst when we got word from our renters (because we still have a house in Texas) informing us a tornado knocked our fence down and did a number on our roof. So, all extra cash flow we may or may not have will go to repairing fences, re-tiling the roof and sprucing up the landscaping for a house we do not even see anymore.

Anybody have any advise or their own experiences to share?

With that said... donations are gladly accepted for the "fix Jim & Mel's roof" fund. :)

A little piece of Holland

Saturday was the warmest day we have seen in Oregon since October. We celebrated by attending the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Festival. Despite the traffic on the way there, we were glad to see the beautiful variety of colors.

As you can see, the flowers were about as tall as Bridger.

Seems like we always have to get a "self taken shot".

Crazy Weather!

This is how March ended for us... A week with hail, rain, snow, sun, and more snow... I know our Utah and Midwest friends will laugh at me for thinking this was even worth mentioning - but for the beginning of spring in Portland something just isn't right.

On another note, we have been trying out some new strollers anticipating the upcoming spring/summer seasons. This is a bike trailer that we took back because when we got it home we realized it did not fit in the apartment very well. However, Bridger seemed to like it. He was our little Rickshaw! Jim was laughing so hard, he could not even speak while taping this.
