Daily Mommy Questions...

Why are you always wearing white when your diaper explodes?

Why does the "yellow newborn poop" stain the toughest to get out? And how does it set in so quickly in the first place?

How did he get the jug out of the fridge and pour himself a glass of milk so quickly? I was only gone 5 seconds. And why does he not stop pouring once the glass if full?

When did you learn to make popcorn by yourself?

Why do they put the emergency call buttons on the very bottom (at the eye level of the child) in the elevator?

Didn't you want to sleep one more hour?

Why do you both like to start crying at the same time?

You mean you are hungry again?

Where did you learn that if you get it open in the store (or take a bite of it) then Mommy HAS to buy it?

Does Playdough really taste that good?

What am I stepping on?

How did you get up there?

When is Daddy getting home?!

My Payday

Gone are the days (for now) where I earn $60 per hour personal training. These days I typically earn $0 per hour, but my paydays come frequently and do include...
THIS...
Not enough of THIS...
THIS...
Some of THAT...
Lots of THIS...
A little of THIS...

And, of course...THIS!!!

We love being a family of four. We love having Bridger & Kacy in our lives. We feel extremely blessed right as we get small glimpses of what our future as an eternal family holds.

Diapers & Doctors

So, I have been meaning to post something sooner than now because newborns truly change and grow so quickly, but our life has been consumed lately by diapers & doctors.

I am so grateful for the Costco quantity baby wipes we get because the phrase "where did the wipes go?" is uttered at least 3 times per day at our house. (Not because we only change 3 diapers, but it seems every time there is a diaper to be changed the wipes have mysteriously relocated.) But hey, diapers are a big part of our life right now and we are okay with that.

Doctors have also been a big part of the last few weeks. For those who have not heard, I got a bad case of Mastitis, which happens when a mammary gland gets clogged up in your breast and then, if not cleared quickly, leads to an infection. This happened to me when Kacy was just over a week old. I went on antibiotics and after 3 more days of a painful chest actually started getting worse: the infection was now affecting both breasts, I was running a constant fever, was achy all over my body and having chills. We were advised to go straight to the ER (once Jim & my mom realized how much pain I was in) and doctors kept me in the hospital for 2 nights pumping heavy doses of antibiotics, fluids, and pain medications. This was my first hospital experience outside of having a baby, and I learned that all hospital wings are not as cute and pleasant as the maternity ward. I was in the geriatrics section where the bed moves every 30 seconds to prevent bed sores and the toilet is in the same place (literally) as the shower. The doctors & nurses took good care of me, but I think 2 hospital visits this year is enough for me.

In happier doctor encounters, Bridger & Kacy both had check ups and are doing great.

Bridger's 2 year old stats:
Weight: 33 lbs (92%)
Height: 35.5 in (70%)
Head: 50.1 cm (80%)

Kacy's 2 week old stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz (60%)
Height: 20.5 in (60%)
Head: 36.8 cm (70%)
Developmentally, they are both doing great and we feel so blessed to have healthy, happy kids.

Throughout all the diapers and doctors, I can not say enough how fortunate we have been to have both grandmas in town to help. They have been lifesavers with all the excitement we have been having. Thank you again and again mom & mom!
