Kacy Lou-Who!

I mentioned this in the previous post, but she deserves a little attention all on her own!

Kacy is 1!
We love Kacy because she is a happy, smiling, giggly girl. She loves her big brother and is pretty content to follow him around all day. She loves to play with blocks and cars (which is pretty much all we have anyway). She is easy going, but will let you know if she does not like something.
She is now a walker! She says a few words (that we understand): Mama, Dada, Bid-er (Bridger), Mek (milk), baba (bottle). She loves to carry on long, babbling conversations with anyone with a listening ear. She loves to clap and try to do actions to songs. She loves to dance to music. She now has 8 teeth (4 on top, 4 on bottom).
Wt: 18 lbs 10 oz (12%)
Ht: 28.5 in (30%)
Head: 46 cm (75%)
We love you Kacy!

Sweet Home Arizona

The kids and I were able to spend two weeks in Arizona with my parents. In order to recap our trip allow me to present...Our Top 10 reasons we loved this trip to Arizona!

1. Grandma & Grandpa!
2. Jim & I celebrated our 6th Anniversary by going to the temple where we married and going on a 6 mile hike.
3. We celebrated Kacy's 1st birthday
4. Jim's company has a partner office in Phoenix - and was able to join us for some of the time since his company happened to have a meeting in AZ the exact time of our vacation.
5. Sunshine! While this is a major plus of visiting AZ in the winter, the second week we were there we actually were able to witness record rainfall - which flooded some of the streets and parks.
6. Hiking!
7. Mexican Food...yum. The Northwest just can't do Mexican food like the Southwest. My parents humored me and let me take multiple trips to my favorite Mexican joint. :) We had chips and salsa coming out everywhere!
(B trying to be as funny as Grandma)
8. Swimming outside in January
9. Feeding the Ducks, Train park, & slides
10. Dance party with Great Grandma Florene's Organ!
I certainly could continue with this list. Thanks for a great time Grandma & Grandpa!

I can't believe he's 3!

BRIDGER. IS. THREE. I can't believe I have been doing this parenting thing long enough to have a 3 year old! There are plenty of days where I feel like a newbie parent and just barely brought this beautiful baby boy home. Three? That suddenly seems so old in kid years. Where did the time go?!
But enough about me... Back to the little man of the hour... Bridger had a great birthday. He had a countdown going all month long - so the anticipation for turning 3 was very high.

The morning of his birthday... as tradition dictates... he got to eat breakfast in bed. Mommy and Daddy were a little slow to get up and ready in the morning, so he momentarily felt very sad to be told to go back to bed when he was ready to get up! However, he realized he wasn't in trouble and actually thought it was pretty cool to be able to have "break-freast in my room" with the family crowded around his feet.
I made Bridger a Happy 3rd Birthday crown, which he obligingly wore most of the day. He even wore it to story time at the library and the librarian properly oohed and ahhed. :) We also watched whatever movie he wanted to watch during the day and ate all the sugar he wanted on his special day. (Amazingly, he still asked for carrots when he saw me snacking on them - moderation, right?!)
That evening we went to here to celebrate his birthday with some of his favorite friends. Afterwards his friends joined us at home for opening presents and to enjoy Bridger's Birthday Cupcake Crocodile.

Happy Birthday Bridger! You are truly a light in our lives. You are so happy, energetic, curious, smart and kind. I can't imagine a more perfect boy for us. We love you!

We WishYou A...

"We wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!" Pretend we just caroled to you on your doorstep 2 weeks ago, and pretend this post isn't as late in coming as it really happens to be.
We did have a nice, fairly quiet, uneventful Christmas this year. It was mostly our little family together at home. The kids had a blast and enjoyed caroling, learning the story of Jesus' birth and all the time home from work that daddy had!
We do feel fortunate to have been able to celebrate Christmas with our good friends: Jared & Dani. We had a delicious Christmas Eve Feast and enjoyed playing games and spending time together on Christmas Day/Dani's Birthday. :)
For Christmas, Bridger got some clothes, toys and games that he has been pretty excited about. Kacy also got some clothes, and (literally) her two front teeth! Her gummy smile is being replaced by six little cute chompers. She has been standing by herself a ton and is taking more steps each day. I am sure she will be walking more regularly in no time.
