My Missionary

I have a missionary... Don't worry, my husband knows about him. :)
This is the latest photo we have gotten from my brother in Alaska. He is working hard serving the Lord and spreading the gospel and we are so proud of him. We love you Elder Mineer!

Good Times with the Berry's

We love visitors. We love when our family comes to town, and we love when occasions arise where our old friends (who are like family) get the chance to come our way, too. Such was the case recently when my best good friend, Julie, came our way as part of her family's "last-hurrah-before-we-begin-physical-therapy-school-in-a-new-town" cross country trip. Julie and I have known each other as long as I can remember and have had many good times together. She has been a great friend and inspiration to me for many years. Our parents still live around the corner from each other, and our families are very dear friends. I was so excited to have Julie, Rick and little Truman come to our house to play. (Truman was blowing me a kiss in this picture below - I swear!).
We only thought it fitting that we go blueberry picking with the Berry family. Bridger took it upon himself to instruct Rick how to pick berries. "You take the blue ones and put them in your bucket, and you take the green ones and you THROW them." Little B named Rick "a very good berry thrower". Thanks Rick for being such a great sport, especially when he was using you as a seat cusion!
We went to Portland to the Rose Garden and did our own little walking tour of downtown.
Our walking tour included Nike Town and Powell's bookstore.
Kacy loved having a baby (or just someone littler) around. I think she gave Truman a taste of what it would be like to have an older sibling by lovingly tackling him behind our backs. (sorry)
Thanks Julie, Rick & Truman for the visit! It was wonderful to see you all! Love ya!

Beach Therapy

“Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.”
Doing a little catch up... After a long week of work and the daily grind, our family was in need of some beach therapy. We love camping and our kids really like sleeping in a tent. However, for this trip we actually sprang for a ocean view condo to stay in for the weekend.
It was a VERY relaxing trip. Bridger loved "our new house" and was all but ready to permanently move in - we actually had to remind him repeatedly tell him that we were in fact going to return to our "old house".
We had a great time, and it was nice to have a little family getaway. We played on the windy beach, found a great playground, swam in Devil's Lake and took the kids to see Toy Story 3.
