Happy 4th Birthday Kacy!

Kacy celebrated her fourth birthday in January. She had breakfast in bed with "KACY" pancakes. Opened presents from family. Painted a 'castle on a cloud'. Had a Superhero-Princess-dress-up party. We painted faces, had a dance party, cupcakes, and a parade to show off all the awesome costumes. Happy birthday Kacy girl!

Nine Years!

Today is our 9th Anniversary!!

Here's a little trip down memory lane...

An excited young couple prepares for their BYU homecoming date. Little did this little lady know she was in for a big surprise!
After a lovely dinner at the Joseph Smith building, a brief encounter with some former missionary companions, and a quiet walk around the Salt Lake City temple... the nervous Prince Charming kneels down and asks the lady to marry him. What excitement, what joy, what shock! Yes! Yes! Yes!

The happy and newly engaged couple goes to the homecoming ball to dance the night away!

Then came preparations, planning and engagement pictures...

The big day arrives! The happy couple were married on a beautiful, warm, sunny Arizona day!

That's more like it! And they lived happier ever after....still!
Happy Anniversary, babe! I love you!
We were smiling so hard our cheeks (the ones on our face) hurt!

Our parents... We love 'em!

I threw this one in there because my little brother just got engaged to his lovely lady! He is getting married in June! (When Kacy saw this, she got really confused! "You married Sam?")

To celebrate our anniversary this year, it was a family affair. Jim is actually in San Fran for an MBA weekend on 'the big day'. So, we celebrated last Saturday with a family dinner out and a trip to Evergreen Water Park.

It was some fun family time!

The kids came home tired and happy. I know it wasn't a romantic getaway, but we did indeed celebrate and create another new memory we will associate with the beginning of year number nine!

Happy New Year!

We celebrated New Years in style with an assortment of Root beer, hot wings and reminiscing.

Jim brought the good when he came home with about 10 different brands & favors of root beer and ginger beer. It was interesting how different they all tasted - some more sweet, others more fizzy - but the kids thought it was a real treat because we don't usually have soda around.

As we looked back at 2012, we went around the room and everyone got to say something they remembered or enjoyed about the year and we wrote it up on the board. Our highlights include: Disneyland, trampoline, minivan, AZ Christmas, Sacramento, CA trip, father son campout, daddy daughter campout, Hawaii, Sunriver with Grandpa, Kindergarten, preschool, bike rides, no training wheels for B, potty training for K, Crossfit, MBA, mom & Angela visited, Chris & Jess visited, swimming, toys, park, Primary, family triathlon, Jim-33, Melanie-29, Bridger-6, Kacy-3, Aron-1, sliding glass door replaced, Aron walking, basketball coach, T-ball coach, emergency room visit, first lost tooth, Spartan race, soccer, sprinklers, fixed fireplace, Sunday School, and mud! Pretty good list, I would say!

The kids stayed up until midnight (East Coast time) and we did did, too (west coast time-barely).

New Years Day we got together with the Jensen family at John's Incredible pizza (my phone memory got full, so I didn't get many pictures), and we had a great time playing and seeing our friends!

I can't wait to see what 2013 brings!
