Havasupai!!

Bucket List Trip to Havasupai: CHECK!

To celebrate my upcoming 30th birthday my dad, Jim and I went on a 3 day trip to Havasupai. We covered about 30 miles in 3 days. How appropriate!

We began at Hualapai Hilltop.

Supai Village. We stopped in the village for a bite to eat and some ice cream before getting back on the trail.

The little LDS chapel at Supai Village.

 Upper Navajo Falls

Lower Navajo Falls. Notice Jim and I jumping through the falls. I think this one was my favorite falls to play at.

 Supai Falls
Some fun with the panoramic function.
Our campsite by the blue-green waters.

 Mooney Falls

In order to get to the bottom of Mooney Falls and follow the river to Beaver Falls, we had to descend down this cave and scramble down the canyon wall.

 Photo bomb!
Thanks for a great birthday celebration!

 Upper Beaver Falls

 Lower Beaver Falls

Mountain House freeze dried meals. Yum!
This is my "Oh No! We have to leave tomorrow!" face.

 Bus Stop
We had a great trip: great weather, great company, great scenery.
As we were hiking out we passed this family hiking with their 11, 9 and 7 year old. It gave us hope for family adventures in the future!
A big thanks to the mules that carried our heavy packs in and out of the canyon so we could enjoy the hike and scenery for the 20 miles to and from the campground.
On our way home we passed through Radiator Springs! Hello Tow Mater! Bridger was excited to see this pic. :)

Mudslinger run

Jim ran the Mudslinger race in Silver falls for the second year in a row. We rented a cabin and braved the cool morning temperature to cheer him on. Last year while Jim was running there was snow on the ground, but this year we actually enjoyed warming temperatures and sunshine! Our friends, the Plotkin family, stayed in the cabin next to ourselves and Jason and Jim ran the 6.5 mile trail course. The kids had fun playing tag, hide and go seek and exploring the area while we waited for the dads to get back. When we saw Jim round the corner, the kids were so excited they started yelling and whooping and high-fiving, Bridger even took off and ran the lat 40 yards to finish the race with his daddy! Jim did a great job and beat His last years time by 20 minutes! (The absence of sloshy snow probably helped with that!

After the race we enjoyed a picnic lunch with our friends, then the kids skipped rocks and played near a stream until we were all pretty tired and we headed home.

Silver falls state park was beautiful, and we didn't even go see the waterfalls this time around!
